Stage 2 – Focus on the Benefits
Obviously you're not going to feel the benefits overnight because what you're embarking upon now is potentially life changing, so don't expect instant results. Slow and steady as the name of the game, but it's important that you focus on the benefits, so that you've always got them in the mind if ever you feel a bit of a wobble or inclined to give up. So let's list some of the main benefits:
· exercise is good for heart disease
· exercise is good for osteoporosis
· exercise is good for diabetes
These are just some of the more obvious benefits that can be experienced if you exercise regularly. These benefits are some of the more long-term ones that have been proved to exist, but although they are clearly worthwhile in terms of your future health, they don't provide the sort of short-term gratification that you might hope to experience.
Fortunately there are some other benefits which you should start to feel almost immediately when regular exercise becomes part of your daily, or at least weekly routine.
· You'll feel more refreshed in the morning when you wake up
· You’ll probably walk more upright and with more confidence
· You will probably sleep better at night
· You will probably have more energy left by evening time
And likely as not, because you're doing something positive, you'll probably feel more optimistic generally
